Smart and beautiful Matebook acessories
In the beginning of project we did not look what others have done for these accessories. When we start concept design for mates, my dream was simply to design most beautiful, honest and functional tablet accessories set. I wanted to design tools that you want to use and carry every day. During design process we did observe and study mobile work experiences and how people are using stylus pen and docking stations. After having clear opinion of use cases we simplify and made everything beautiful and functional.
Below Design story is is showing how we worked to unify all design elements together to define new style to Huawei design which is simply timeless and beautiful design.
We where really thinking shape and functionality of stylus -most essential tool of toughs, which has 2048 levels of sensitivity to give user highest precision when drawing or making notes. As a designer I knew how perfect pen feels and works, therefore we engineered balance or weight (center of gravity) to between your fingers.
I got inspiration for leather wrap from traditional leather Pencil case. In team we thought it would be best if user can carry Matepen and -Dock in case and also storage all necessary connectivity cables. We simply fold and connect all parts to sheet of leather with magical magnet locks.
